Sarah Bowman, CSW, therapist
Sarah is a certified social worker who prioritizes building strong, trusting relationships with her clients. She creates a space where clients feel invited to explore their challenges with courageous curiosity and feel empowered to make changes in their life. Her recent experience includes working as a therapist at Primary Children’s Medical Center, where she conducted full crisis evaluations in the emergency department and in client’s homes.
Sarah specializes in perinatal mental health, trauma, anxiety, depression, women’s issues, relationship and family dynamics, and life or faith transitions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation from Brigham Young University. She earned a Master’s degree in social work from Utah Valley University. Her training includes the Postpartum Support International Two-Day Certificate training, suicide prevention, crisis worker certification, recreation therapy, motivational interviewing, and parent management training. She incorporates CBT and DBT into her work with clients.
Outside of work, Sarah loves spending time with her husband and daughter. Particularly, they enjoy hanging out at the park and traveling together. She loves skiing, doing weightlifting meets, live music, reading poetry, and doing puzzles.
As the poet Rilke says, "no feeling is final.” Sarah brings hope to the therapy room, to demonstrate that things can be different. Showing up and engaging in therapy takes courage. Sarah wants clients to know that all parts of them are welcome, and it is an honor to sort things out together. She also knows therapy is rad! It can offer you the tools to think new thoughts that can change your life. It might feel uncomfortable and hard at times - much like the growing pains you may have felt in your body growing up, this means change is happening.
